The
Deer lives on grasses, leaves, shoots, twigs and flowers
throughout North and South America. The population is
threatened by hunting and loss of habitat but responds to
land stewardship management plans where these are in place.
The deer is a shy
creature, and often difficult to spot in its natural
woodland habitat.
